A new Job Support Scheme will start on 1 November 2020 following the closure of the Job Retention Scheme on 31 October 2020.
The
new Scheme will, currently, run for 6 months and will apply to employees working a minimum of 33% of their normal hours.
For the hours not worked the government and the employer will pay 1/3 of wages each.
The level of grant will be calculated based on employee’s usual salary, capped at £697.92 per month
Full scheme eligibility is yet to be announced but it will be targeted at small and medium sized business. Large business will need to be able show that there turnover has fallen during the pandemic.
We anticipate that claims will be made in a similar way to the current Job Retention Scheme (JRS) claims via a HM Revenue & Customs online portal.
