For our final 120 year pledge, we held a Macmillan coffee morning and aimed to sell 120 homemade cakes and bites. With the help of everyone in the office, and several friends and family, we managed to bake an amazing 242 cakes and bites!
Thank you to everyone to came to our coffee morning and kindly made a donation. We raised an incredible £615 for our charity of the year, Macmillan Cancer Support.
Taunton Macmillan Fundraising Group volunteer Bethan was delighted to visit AC Mole Accountants on the day “I was thrilled to have the opportunity to support the fundraising efforts, as well as enjoy some delicious homemade cake and cookies. It is always great to be able to support those who choose to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Care and to raise over £600 is amazing.
Donations are used both nationally and locally, including the Cancer Information & Support Centre based in the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital which offers information and support to anyone affected by cancer, and the local Macmillan Cancer Support Workers. The Macmillan Cancer Support Workers are part of the cancer care team at Musgrove, and work alongside Clinical Nurse Specialists, Consultants and other health professionals. They support people who have just been given a cancer diagnosis, who are currently going through treatment – as well as patients who are living with, or beyond cancer. Across the UK in 2022, our Macmillan services reached and supported an estimated 2 million people living with cancer”
Due to smashing our 120 cake target, there were a few cakes left at the end of the day. Not wanting to waste the unsold items, we took the remaining cakes to Taunton Opendoor who provide help and support to the homeless in Taunton.
